Onsite business counseling takes place at the Chamber Office as well. The SBDC provides one-on-one counseling sessions with interested Chamber members. Additionally, Chamber members are invited to be trained as an Institute counselor. The SBDC trains interested members on how to best conduct a counseling session and then places their name in a bank of counselors with their area of expertise noted. Interested members looking to receive counseling or to become a counselor should contact Lorraine Allen, Executive Director of the SBDC at (609) 989-5232.
Just another way for Chamber members to "Get Connected"!

Connecting with resources...through The Chamber Business Institute.
Connecting members with timely and relevant business resources is a key strategic initiative for the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce. To this end, the Chamber Business Institute is a venue in which business counseling, training, seminars and resources is delivered to its members. The Institute is managed in partnership with the College of New Jersey Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Chamber’s Small Business Committee. Housed in the Chamber office, the Institute hosts a monthly seminar series, regular on-site business counseling and a Business Resource Center, which provides business information through books, guides and online resources.
This monthly series provides Chamber members the opportunity to gain valuable information and training on timely and relevant business topics. The Chamber looks for members to share their expertise and talents by facilitating these monthly training programs. If a member has a business topic that they believe would be of benefit to fellow Chamber members, they are invited to sign up with the Speakers Bureau. To further enhance the Institute’s offerings, the Chamber is working on an online training program in partnership with Thomas Edison State College to deliver online training at a reduced cost to Chamber members. Through an exclusive Chamber portal, a new world of online learning will soon be available to Chamber members.
